Undergraduate

What is the definition of an undergraduate qualification?

An undergraduate qualification in abroad institutions is an academic step up from A-levels (or their equivalents) and is normally obtained by completing a university programme of study. There are three kinds of courses:

  • Those leading to a degree;
  • Intermediate credentials such as certificates or diplomas; and
  • Those that integrate academic study with on-the-job training

Because of the wide range of undergraduate courses and disciplines available, it is critical to thoroughly investigate which option is ideal for you. There are several sorts of Bachelor’s degrees available.

Bachelor’s Degrees

Most students pursue a three-year/four-year bachelor’s degree, which includes a combination of seminars, workshops, and lectures comprised of several modules. Certain modules are optional, allowing you to customise your studies to your own interests. Degrees in science and engineering typically last four years and involve a research project or dissertation.

Joint degrees are another option, dividing your time between two distinct programmes, and most institutions now offer sandwich degrees, which take a year off to allow for a placement in industry. After graduation, you will have the choice of either obtaining full-time work and starting your career, or continuing your education through postgraduate study.
